It's Not What You Know, It's Who You Know

Here's a great quote from a great career thought leader:

“Stop applying online & start building relationships. Find people who can influence the hiring decision for the role you want. Work to get them on the phone so you can make your case. Don’t show them what you’ve done, show them exactly what you’re going to do if they take a chance on you. That’s how you’re going to land a job in 2019.”
Austin Belcak,

So many job seekers spend too much time searching and applying for jobs online, thinking they are being productive. They aren't. The way to get hired, especially if you are changing careers, is to get out and network. Call people in the industry you want to get into and ask if they'd meet you for an informational interview. Most people are only too happy to help others. Plus, after meeting you in person, they are more likely to refer you to their company's H.R. department.

Go out and make some connections!
